It’s no secret that tablets are quickly gaining popularity among consumers, with research firm Gartner predicting that tablet sales would reach 118.9 millions units this year, 182.4 million units in 2013 and 369.2 million units in 2016. The adoption within enterprises has risen significantly too with Digital Agency Vertic predicting total shipments of tablets to around the world to increase at a compound annual growth rate of 48% over the next 5 years. This means 96.3 million units as opposed to the 13.6 million units in 2011.
