Mighty Meeting (Free/Basic; $4.99/Pro)

mightymeetings

Mighty Meetings allows users to upload presentations (including video) to the cloud, making it easy to access and share with other attendees wherever the meeting is being held.

To share a presentation, the app is not required to be installed on the presentation viewers’ devices, and they don’t need to sign up for account. The presentation is shared either through a direct email link or by entering the meeting ID on the company’s website and can be accessed either from a desktop via a web browser or a tablet. The app also allows for the meeting’s attendees to communicate via the chat or voice functions. If you need to demonstrate something in real time, or if you’re conducting a brainstorming session, Mighty Meeting offers a whiteboard function.

Most of the time, you want to be able to share the information presented or gathered in the meeting with all of the attendees after the meeting. Mighty Meetings makes this easy, as all presentations and drawings are cached on the device. You can open and show colleagues the meeting on your tablet anywhere even when there is no network connection. If the attendees require a copy of the information covered in the meeting, you can email slides, annotations and drawings as a PDF document.

In terms of pricing, meetings can be attended for free and you get a free 14 day trial. A monthly subscription of $4.99/month is required to host a meeting or create a new document after the 14-day free trial.

In the office suite alternatives camp, QuickOffice Pro HD is one of the best. While it does also include a text and spreadsheet editor, the focus will be on its powerpoint component, Quickpoint.

Quickpoint allows users to create, edit and share PowerPoint presentations, which can be synced with a variety of cloud storage providers such as Dropbox, Google Docs, Box, Evernote, Catch, Egnyte, Huddle, SugarSync and MobileMe.

When creating and editing PowerPoint presentations, users can insert, reorder and delete slides, and Cut / copy / paste text in presentations and across applications.

In terms of formatting the slides, Quickpoint offers the following functionality:

–          Insert numbered lists

–          Insert and resize images from camera or gallery

–          Insert, resize and rotate shapes

–          Format font type, style, size and colour

–          Move, resize, and edit text boxes

For sharing your newly created presentation, Quickpoint allows the presentation to be displayed either on the device or using an external display such as a projector. However, unfortunately there is no wireless functionality to display on an external display, the app requires a cable.  It also features a built-in laser pointer to draw attention to important aspects of your presentation.

Presentation Timer Pro $2.65

Presentation Timer android presentation appsKeeping track of time while presenting is often one of the hardest parts of the presentation. If you find yourself often going over time, Presentation Timer Pro can help you out.

–          Countdown of the time left

–          The current time

–          The end of the allotted time

–          A smooth graphical indication of your progress

–          Control screen brightness to save battery

However, not only does it help you manage your time better, it also prevents the embarrassing ring of your phone during your presentation, by automatically switching the phone either to silent or the Airplane Mode.
