Correct Your Posture With Your iPhone

Most you would have been nagged about maintaining good posture, at home and at school and now medical studies are urging us to keep that back straight.

For those of you with desk jobs, this becomes even more important with the tendency to hunch or slouch hard to avoid. However, for those of you who don’t maintain perfect posture, there is hope in the form of LUMOback on Kickstarter.

LUMOback has been designed to alert you when you are slouching so that you can correct your posture. To detect your posture, the LUMOback is designed to be worn around the waist, which sends vibrations to alert you when it detects you are slouching. The device is accompanied by an iPhone and iPad app, which features a stick figure avatar on the screen that visually represents your posture and

whether you are sitting, walking, running or laying down. If the figure is green you’re posture is great, if not the app will direct you on how to fix it. At the end of the day, the app also gives you statistics on posture in terms of how much (as a percentage) of your day have you been in a particular position (i.e. slouching, sitting, walking, running etc).

The device was designed by three Stanford University graduates and the project has already reached its $100,000 goal on Kickstarter.
